HOMES BY NEIGHBORHOOD
ABOUT THE BRENTWOOD NEIGHBORHOOD
Tucked in the Southeast quarter of Springfield near Battlefield Mall, Brentwood's hilly streets—shaded by towering old-growth Oak trees—are dotted with a stunning collection of mid century modern homes. Not only did architect Gene Paine design some of the neighborhood residences, but the Brentwood Library (located near Seminole and Glenstone) recently underwent a renovation that brought its retro-era architecture into modern day.
ABOUT THE PHELPS GROVE NEIGHBORHOOD
Located just south of Missouri State University between National and Campbell Avenues, mid-town neighborhood Phelps Grove is where some of the city's most well-preserved mid century modern homes can be found. By climbing the streets south of Phelps Grove Park and the Springfield Art Museum (which has a lovely retro-era feel of its own!), you'll find stately, well-manicured time capsule homes that embodied modern living in their heyday.
ABOUT THE SOUTHERN HILLS NEIGHBORHOOD
Trekking eastward from Brentwood, one will find the sprawling streets of Southern Hills just beyond Lone Pine Avenue. In fact, turning down Southern Hills Boulevard will land you right in the heart of this distinguished neighborhood in which mid century modern residences of every sub-category are around literally every corner. For best results, let yourself get a little lost—the deeper you go in Southern Hills, the more gems you'll find.
